Application
Especially developed for bonding and sealing in nautical applications where heavy requirement exist for the adhesion and elasticity of the construction, such as bonding deck coverings, deck hatches and portholes. Bonding and sealing deck fittings, deck/hull connections. The Long Open Time version is recommended when using Construction Adhesive as bedding compound whenever a high initial strength is required.KENT Assembly Adhesive is compatible with most industrial paints and lacquer systems, both alkyd resin and dispersion based. Assembly Adhesive adheres well without primer on clean, dry, dust and grease free substrates of aluminium, stainless steel, galvanized steel, zinc, copper, brass, powder coated metal, most lacquered metal surfaces, glass, PVC, polyester (GRP), painted and lacquered wood, etc. Use KENT MS Prep on bare metals and painted metals in applications where there are great thermal or physical loads. On plastics, use Plastic Adhesion Promoter. Due to the variety of plastics, adhesion tests are always recommended prior to application.
Manuals
1. Clean surface with Acrysol or Soft Surface Cleaner and allow to dry.2. Apply Assembly Adhesive as required, with KENT Hand Caulking Gun or KENT Air Caulking gun. 3. In sealing applications, Assembly Adhesive should be tooled or smoothened within 20 minutes. In bonding applications, the substrates have to be assembled within 35 minutes. In general, a minimum adhesive thickness of 2mm is recommended. 3. Paint, if required, when skin has formed (approximately 20-30 minutes dependent on ambient temperature and humidity). For best results, paint over within 4 hours.
