Flow Form

Double wall thermoplastic tubing that prevents failures due to corrosion, vibration and strain on electrical and many other connections.

Category

Description

Outer wall shrinks –provides strength, rigidity, abrasion- and chemical resistance
Inner wall melts –for a splash- and moisture-resistant seal (not intended for full immersion in fluids)
Rugged protection against abrasion, vibration, and flexing
Excellent strain relief and insulation of weak points
RoHS compliant

Application

Encapsulates components, splices, and terminations where moisture resistance and mechanical protection are required.
Inner encapsulant melts and flows to fill surface irregularities of the substrate.
While still hot, the tubing can be blocked to form a wire breakout.
Provides strain relief on robotic applications.
Insulates tool handles from electric shock.
Protects chains from corrosion.
Apply on cord extremities to prevent them from fraying.
Typical applications include :
Insulates, bundles and waterproofs a wide range of connections
Insulates and protects electrical terminals and connectors
Protects welding cables, equipment, wiring and lights
Insulates tool handles from electric shock
Protects chains from corrosion
Prevents cord extremities from fraying
Seals and protects flexible hoses

Manuals

1. Always select the largest size that will shrink snugly over the component to be covered.
2. Cut a piece of Flow Form tube. It should be long enough to cover the connection in excess at both sides of the connection.
3. Clean the connection with Electric Cleaner and allow flashing off.
4. Insert one part of the unassembled connection into the Flow Form tube before closing the connection and slide the Flow Form tube over the connection until it’s fully covered.
5. Apply heat with Blazer Torch evenly to the Flow Form tube to allow shrinkage, starting from the middle to both extremities.
6. Stop applying heat when the inner encapsulant starts melting out from both extremities of the Flow Form tube and allow to cool down.
