Rust Converter
A mineral acid-free rust treatment, formulated to neutralise corrosion on ferrous metals and components also acts as primer coating, ready for over coating as desired.
Description
Water-based emulsion for treatment of rusty surfaces –Non-toxicNeutralises corrosion process – Leaves a tough insoluble acrylic coating after curingEasy to apply by brush, roller or even sprayer due to low viscosity –Easy in useSelf priming – Compatible with most paint productsMinimum surface preparation required – Can also be applied to damp surfaces
inclement weather conditions Hard, water insoluble hydrophobic film –Protects treated surfaces against inclement weather conditions

Application
Anywhere a fine finish is not required after corrosion treatment with Rust Converter.Examples: automotive, trailers, agriculture, commercial vehicles (e.g. salt sprayers), heavy construction machinery, metal constructions, railings, tank voids including ballast & cargo, bridges, window ledges, oil rigs, steel hull boats & ships, pontoons, hatches – all sectors using metal parts in oxidizing or salty atmospheres or where they have to be protected against rust.
Instructions
1. The surface to be treated should be free from oil, grease, loose rust and blistered paint deposits. Salt must be removed using a suitable detergent and fresh water.
2. Apply using a brush, roller or trigger sprayer. Ensure all areas of corrosion are covered. Depending on the condition of the surface, up to three coats may be required to ensure complete coverage and conversion (wait at least one hour before apply additional coat).
3. When Rust Converter gets into contact with rust, fluid starts to react forming a blue film as product converts to a stable, ferrous, organic complex.
4. Touch dry after 15-45 minutes. Do not allow the coating to get wet whilst drying. Allow to cure for 24 hours before applying overcoat. An application of a wet film thickness of 50-100 micron should cover 10-15 square meters per liter of product. Test compatibility before use
5. Clean the brush, roller or trigger sprayer with water after use.
